Tester-Burns Debate

After a lot of chopping and  playing around with formatting, I have the  Tester-Burns debate posted on YouTube. The opening is marrred by the presence of George Allen for about 2 minutes, as CSPAN started the debate a little later than scheduled.

Thanks so much for putting up the debate. I can’t wait to watch it.

    2. Pogie Says:

No problem. Just brace yourself for the Senator’s use of “English.”

    3. Randy Says:

Are you going to post the entire debate as one file on YouTube?

    4. Pogie Says:

Unfortunately, youtube limited me to 10 minute files, so I cut it into six sections. On broadband, there is very little delay, so you should be able to move from one piece to another easily.

    5. Scott Dowdle Says:

Any chance I could get a copy from you that would be suitable for showing to a group of people? I’d like to show the debate at the next Democracy for Montana meeting in Billings… and although I’m generally pretty good at figuring out a way to download the embedded file (usually an .flv file) and converting it to… say an .avi and then joining multiple files into one… I haven’t quite figured out youtube yet.

Any format will do… although the higher quality the better.

      Please email me.

      Thanks in advance.

      Scott:

I have a pretty good copy in avi format. I can certainly burn it to a DVD and send it down to you or find a way to transfer the file.

    7. Andrew Says:

I can’t access the Youtube. Would it be possible to send the full file? If it’s large, maybe use Megaupload.com.

UPDATE: YOU BE THE JUDGE You can watch the whole Tester-Burns debate for yourself and see if John’s wife got it right– that anyone, no matter how brain dead could have thought Burns did well–here. And here’s the second 10 minutes of the debate: [IMG ]

and said Burns continues “to spend money like a drunken sailor back in Washington D.C.” The AP reports the debate got heated at times. Did anyone out there watch the debate? How “heated” did things get? Update: Intelligent Discontent hasposted video of the debate here. [more]

    5. A Chicken Is Not Pillage Says:

started by Jon Tester during yesterday’s debate, I figured I’d best take out the broadaxe for a bit of light pruning on our side. This morning, while getting ready for work, I had a chance to see the new TV ad which purports to defend Jon Tester against the hollow

    6. David Sirota Says:

to U.S. Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-ND) about his upcoming new book called Take This Job and Ship It. In the second hour, I’ll be chatting with Montana’s Democratic Senate nominee Jon Tester, who this weekend destroyed incumbent Sen. Conrad Burns (R) in atelevised debate. That hour I will also be speaking with Steve Doherty - the co-chair of the Progressive States Network. Then, in the 8am hour, it’s Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer and then Michael Huttner, the executive director of Colorado

    7. Midterm Madness Says:

over the last month is the pessimism weÂ’re sensing from D.C. Republicans over Burns — more so, frankly, than the worry weÂ’re hearing over Santorum. The debate to which Todd refers to took place in Whitefish in late June (video is available here.) It was the first time during the election that the two men sparred face-to-face and seemed to be a clear victory for the Democratic challenger who faced an incumbent uncomfortable and unfamiliar with the material.
