The Free Republic and Michelle Malkin managed to get all of their friends together to protest the New York Times today. Anyone want to bet that Faux News will cover it today, even though there are more reporters than protesters there?

Rumsfeld okayed pictures of his home for NY Times

Blogger Glenn Greenwald is reporting that the published photograph of Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld’s home on Maryland’s Eastern Shore were taken with the Secretary’s permission. Following the publication of the photo (right) by the New York Times,a number of well know bloggers and political commentators, including Michelle Malkin and David Horowitz, attacked the paper for putting the property at risk of attack.

2 JP July 3, 2006 at 5:27 pm: The Right bitches and moanes that this enables the enemy when everyone, EVERYONE including the terrorists knows and has known for a long, long time that we, ALONG WITH EVERYONE in Europe, Asia and many of the countries within Africa monitor banking transactions. What IS THE STORY is the fact that this lying son-of-a MAJOR bitch has repeatedly lied again and again and again to you, me and the entire country about spying on MILLIONS of INNOCENT Americans WITHOUT a WARRANT. If Bush and the government believe they are acting within the law, then they should have no problem following it. It’s really that simple.

When you work the percentages, that’s just about right. When we need conservatives to look like asses, it’s hard to find them, but it’s pretty easy to get a few thousand liberals to get together and look like asses. Just look at the Yearly Kos convention.

5 David July 4, 2006 at 10:57 am: It’s not the event, it’s the pictures that matter. No matter what happened at the protest, the reporters covering it will make it to be more than it is. In this manner, the right has made itself to be more than the selected group of fringe nuts than it is, and portrayed itself as a mass movement.

They get expert advice, don’t seem to mind being cast as wing nuts, and press press press their cause.
