Conrad Banking Some Votes

My good friend Cory Swanson sent out an e-mail to the Burns faithful this afternoon, encouraging conservatives to go to Butte and drown out the “despicable” ordinary Montanans who aren’t willing to let Conrad keep lying to them.

(Please, please…let a bunch of Republicans come to Butte to try to keep the Democrats there in line.)

The best part of the e-mail, though was this gem:

We need just a few hours of your day on Saturday to call voters and urge them to cast their absentee ballot for Conrad Burns.  Absentee voting is more important than ever, and we need to reach these voters immediately so we can begin banking votes for Conrad.

That’s funny stuff. Word on the street is that Conrad is no stranger to the concept of banking votes.

We will welcome the bussed-in Republicans with open arms, Butte-style.

*evil laughter ensues*

I would pay a large amount of money to see gaggles of the Burns’ faithful in Butte. As a native, I’m sure that union workers of every stripe will be pleased to hear their views on the economy.

And please, please, let them go to the M&M and try to spread their love to the Irish immigrants who toiled in the coal mines for decades only to be screwed over by Bob Gannon. Because I’m sure that these men who have lost their savings, their homes and are now working as WalMart greeters would be thrilled to hear about the President’s plan for Social Security. They’d also love to know why nothing has ever been done to the people at Montana Power, even though Burns pledged to get to the bottom of it.

Oh let them come, I’m sure they’ll be welcomed Butte style.
