After saying he would vote in support of a new GI bill aimed at helping those that serve our country in a very dangerous and real way, Rehberg has voted against the GI bill.
Rehberg’s shocking vote brings four issues to light:
1. Rehberg lies to Montanans. Rehberg initially told his electorate that he would vote in affirmation of the GI bill, then didn’t.
2. Rehberg is tied to the hip with the failed ideology of Bush. Bush has promised to veto any GI bill that includes a tax increase (how else would to expect to provide GIs with much needed benefits?).
3. Hunt is looking even better. “Retired Lieutenant Colonel Jim Hunt was joined by other veterans to respond to Congressman Rehberg’s vote on the bill.” Hunt looks a lot more qualified for the job then Rehberg ever has, especially on this issue.
4. Rehberg is willing to send our troops to war, but not take care of them when they return. Rehberg has vote to send our troops to war, then idly stood by while Bush cut veterans’ benefits and refused to give GIs the benefits they deserve. If this kind of “representation” isn’t enough to make you sick, I don’t know what is.
Rehberg’s vote on the Gi bill is especially despicable considering the extremely high number of Montanans that serve in the military. Is this really the kind of representation we want?
