The absurdity of the Montana Republican Party just ratcheted up another level today, as Mike Lange announced that he planning to mount a write-in campaign for the U.S. Senate, against Max Baucus and Bob Kelleher. What’s more, he’s running as a two-man team with St. Regis truck driver Anton Pearson, who will be his state director if Lange wins the election.
Mike, we’re still behind you. If anything could make a Senate race involving Bob Kelleher more exciting, it’s you.

I would love to see the stats on write-in candidates. Do they ever win races? Even on the most local level, it seems extremely hard to convince an average voter to WRITE your name on the ballot, much less get someone to vote for you in the first place.
