Of course, they didn’t offer an apology. Instead, it was the media’s fault:

Eaton wrote that the party launched the challenges in “good faith,” but media reports have since suggested the challenges were an effort to suppress voter turnout.

I’m quite certain it didn’t have anything to do with a recently filed lawsuit that might have required some awkward answers.
