The Helena Independent Record is endorsing Governor Schweitzer for another term:

When Schweitzer was elected governor four years ago, we knew we were in for quite a ride. As it turns out, it’s been a pretty good ride, worth another four years of the same.

The Billings Gazette sensibly endorses a great candidate for Superintendent of Public Instruction, Denise Juneau:

Stepping up to the superintendent’s office would mean taking on a larger version of the job she’s already doing. Articulate, intelligent and energetic, Juneau is the best candidate for the job of leading and advocating for Montana’s K-12 schools.

Jake Eaton seems to have found a new career opportunity quite suddenly:

Reached by telephone Tuesday night, Eaton said, “It’s all going to be all right. I’m going to work for an outfit, DNS Equity Consulting, a consulting and private equity firm in Madison, Wis. It’s just one of those deals. The opportunity came up and I took it.”
Asked if he was forced out as executive director because of the vote challenges, Eaton said, “No, I’m not going to talk about any of that stuff on the record.”
