I’m very impressed by Governor Schweitzer’s response to the recent study that questioned the value of the Montana Meth Project: like the sensible manager of the budget that he has shown himself to be, he believes that the state should evaluate the program before investing more money:

But Schweitzer said he now wants to make sure decision-makers look at all sides of the issue and hear more about the study, published this month in Prevention Science.

"The taxpayers of this state have made substantial investments in this program," Schweitzer said in a release. "I believe it is our obligation to look at all sides of the issue, evaluate and look for ways we can improve."

Absolutely the correct response, and a far sight better than the kneejerk defense of the program offered by other Montana politicians earlier in the week.
