So, I'm confused. Are schools incompetent or are they wildly effective in spreading propaganda? And did you get your school issued roll of duct tape, Pogie? I didn't. :(

this is the sickest video i have EVER seen. wow. i don't even know what to say to it. it's wrong to teach our children to open their minds, but what these religious fanatics are saying is that we are forcing them to open their minds. they need to realize that one the door is open, it can open wider very easily without any force.

i can't believe the maker of this little movie used children.

Richard Bidmead April 18, 2009 at 7:47 pm

Oh, they're not afraid to use children… That's for sure. See any number of the Prop 8 vids. According to them, this is ALL ABOUT the children–to which I would actually agree with them, but on completely different grounds altogether.

This video is so disgustingly disturbing in every way. "Don't be afraid, Jimmy–stand up for your rights to be a bigot!" How appropriately empowering since, y'know, homophobes are so lacking in their capacity for unsuppressed confidence and motivation.

It is disgusting to use kids, especially as political props. See: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdPSqL9_mfM

Why would the enlightened left do this?

dpogreba April 19, 2009 at 2:36 am

Keep it coming, man. The fact that you chose a video comparing Obama to Hitler is outstanding. That kind of rhetoric is definitely going to play with middle America.

Craig Moore April 19, 2009 at 2:52 am

Your comparison is faulty. You are smarter than that, I thought, to understand the tragic historical perspective from one of humakind's most horific periods. Children should NEVER be used to push any agenda or political purpose.

dpogreba April 19, 2009 at 3:11 am

Right. And the video just happened to compare children, who seem pretty happy, in the presence of what appears to be their parents, to schoolchildren in militaristic dress, singing about dying for Hitler.

I mean those are practically identical, aren't they?

Pathetic.

@Craig Moore – I don't think anyone said the left were perfect. And them being imperfect certainly doesn't make the others guys right. (I mean, correct).

@dpogreba I'm pretty sure Hitler youths were pretty happy little Vegemites about their singing too. Moore has a point – using children as political props is pretty twisted. You can't just excuse it by saying, "Hey, we're not the bad guys".

Yes, may the social authoritarians cry more! Basically, LGBT folks are going to win–the radical homosexual agenda IS going to be realized–and their oppressors are going to lose. Regrettably, religious nutjobs do not understand that bigotry is not fairness. Oppression is not a way of being free.
