I have to say that I am relieved to log on to intelligent discontent and no one has posted “restrict access to guns” or “If only the other kids had had guns” or “Immediate death penalty”, or anything like what is going on with the IR comments. No one knows enough to make any judgement like that. Anyone who already thinks they know, without any further knowledge, how this affects gun control, or the death penalty, or any other political issue is just plugging a tragedy into their list of political arguments, and I appreciate that this site is so far relatively free of it.
